“Write a post that builds on one of the comments you left yesterday. Don’t forget to link to the other blog!”
Yesterday, after reading a Silver Threading blog post, I commented:
“Sounds interesting. Think I will give it a try.”
Exploring and venturing, without fear, is how I wish to live in the present. Keeping this in mind, I followed through and tried Lantern Poetry, which as defined in the blog post is:
“A type of poem that has one syllable in the first line, two syllables in the second line, three syllables in the third line, four syllables in the fourth line, and one syllable in the fifth line that is related to the first word of the poem.”
My first attempt at Lantern Poetry:
“Sad
Scared Cried
Left To Find
ME Now Life Back
Glad”
(SeasonedSistah2)
In earlier posts, more often than some may like to see, I write about this new journey to overcome fear and self-judgment as I seek to define ME.
By Defining and Expressing ME via this blogging platform, my space has expanded to receive and accept that:
- I Am Good Enough
- I Am Worthy
- I Am Loved
Yes, you are most definitely good enough, worthy and loved!

I have a new ME too, but for the last few years i have tried to ignore ME and tried to be the me i use to be, but defining ME now seems like a good thing. I am not much good at poetry but maybe i will try Lantern poetry – although i love reading it.

Wow! That was powerful! I hadn’t heard of this style poetry until now, so I am appreciative of two things here: (1) Your transparency and (2) the fact that I learned something new! 😀 Thank you for both.

Poetry is something new. But, at my age — open to trying new things. Take care.
