I did miss you. Glad to know all is well. I am scheduled for cataract surgery tomorrow morning. The ophthalmologist assures me it’s only a 20 minute outpatient surgical procedure and even with the recovery period, I shouldn’t be in the hospital more than 3-4 hours. If all goes well, I can stay on my blogging schedule.

Hi, Imani – Many, many years ago, while attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison (early 1970s), I satisfied my language requirements by taking two years of Swahili, one semester of Hausa, and one semester of Xhosa. Sadly, I retained little. But, I did remember Imani means Faith; and, when I read the poetry you share as well as the posts you write, I see the writings of a Faithful person. On another note, my cataract surgery went well — spent less than three hours at the hospital surgical center. Bed rest yesterday. This morning, I visited the eye surgery and everything looked good to him. Assuming the eye heals properly, I will the left eye done in two-three weeks. Whoopee!! First time, without glasses since I was ten years old. Trying to see the positive side of every situation. Still a little slow in Blogville as the brightness of the computer is sometimes irritating. But, I know to turn it off, when it becomes too much. Thank you for your comments. Hugs!!

Very inspiring.I was in a 36hr coma after I collapsed during chemotherapy due to high levels of cumulative steroids in 2006 and I clearly know what being positive and fighting is all about.I was 42 years with 2 young children.
