Blogging 101: Make A Prompt Personal

Assignment: November 17

“Publish a post based on your own, personalized take on today’s Daily Prompt.”

Daily Prompt:  Golden Key

“You’ve been given a key that can open one building, room, locker, or  box to which you don‘t normally have access.  How do you use it, and why?

Today is November 22.  And, the assignment is late but as the old saying goes, “better late than never.”

Golden Key:  Door to Beauty

With this Golden Key, I opened the Door to Beauty for all to enjoy; and, I chose to use The Free Dictionary definition of beauty:

“The quality that gives pleasure to the mind or senses and is associated with such properties as harmony of form or color, excellence of artistry, truthfulness, and originality.”

Color

“Nature always wear the colors of the spirit.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

Artistry

“Because God created the Natural — invented it out of His love and artistry — it  demands our reverence.”
(C.S. Elliott)

 Truthfulness

“Be still and hear your truth. Live your truth and be true to your truth.” Boitumelo Phetia

Originality

No bird has ever uttered a note that was not in some first bird’s throat.  Since Eden’s freshness and man’s fail, no rose has been original.” Thomas Bailey Aldrich

“My Golden Key opened the door to see Beauty in all things, now my actions get positive reactions from all those who cross my path.”  (SeasonedSistah2)

Blogging 101: Be Inspired By The Community

Assignment

“Write a post that builds on one of the comments you left yesterday.  Don’t forget to link to the other blog!”

Yesterday, after reading a Silver Threading blog post, I commented:

Sounds interesting.  Think I will give it a try.”

Exploring and venturing, without fear, is how I wish to live in the present.  Keeping this in mind, I followed through and tried Lantern Poetry, which as defined in the blog post is:

“A type of poem that has one syllable in the first line, two syllables in the second line, three syllables in the third line, four syllables in the fourth line, and one syllable in the fifth line that is related to the first word of the poem.”

My first attempt at Lantern Poetry:

“Sad

Scared Cried

Left To Find

ME Now Life Back

Glad”

(SeasonedSistah2)

In earlier posts, more often than some may like to see, I write about this new journey to overcome fear and self-judgment as I seek to define ME.

By Defining and Expressing ME via this blogging platform, my space has expanded to receive and accept that:

  • I Am Good Enough
  • I Am Worthy
  • I Am Loved

About Me

IMG_0691

During this last season of life, I am on a journey.

Two years ago, I opened up and ventured outside of my comfort zone to redefine ME.  Daily, I explore and pursue new interests always seeking to bring happiness, love and tranquility into my space.

When I undertook this mission to find ME, overcoming FEAR has been my greatest challenge.  Because, FEAR has played a large role in my life, since childhood.

But I overcame the FEAR of breast cancer, chronic pain associated with Rheumatoid Arthritis and Fibromyalgia, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, and Sleep Apnea.

And, I will not allow FEAR to limit what I share on this blog.

My new mantra: FEAR has two meanings: “(1) Forget Everything And Run, or (2) Face Everything and Rise. The Choice is Mine.”

Blogging here I come ready or not!!!

Blogging 101, Love Your Theme

Today’s Assignment

“Try out at least three other themes — even if you’re happy with the one you first chose.  Try one you’re drawn to, and one you would never use.”

If I have multiple things to choose from; I have to look, re-look and look several more times before making a decision.  I took more time than necessary viewing the different theme options to complete this assignment.

After trying three, I concluded that I was happier with the current theme.  I wrote about this for the Day 1 Assignment, “Say Your Name.”

My question??????   HOW DO I GET THE OLD THEME BACK?

Confession, I plead guilty to being computer and blogosphere challenged.
